Hareket to launch $8.4 million wind energy operation in Oman
Hareket, Türkiye’s leading company in heavy-lifting, project transportation, and cargo engineering, is making a name for itself with the projects it undertakes globally. Hareket will handle the transportation, installation, and assembly of 36 wind turbines in the $8.445 million project in Oman, which will be the country’s second-largest wind power plant.
Abdullah Altunkum, CEO of Hareket, stated that Hareket, with its tailor-made engineering solutions and operational capabilities, is the preferred solution partner for international energy projects. He said, “Thanks to our 68 years of deep-rooted experience and strategic investments, we undertake important roles in projects across three continents and diverse geographies. To date, Hareket has provided 6,108.95 MW of energy through projects involving transportation, crane, assembly, and port services. From this perspective, Hareket has contributed to 45% of the wind energy projects in our country. In other words, an average of 5 million households in Türkiye are now being powered by renewable energy projects in which Hareket contributes. This project, which will be the second largest wind power plant in Oman upon completion, is proof that Hareket is becoming an increasingly influential player in the global arena. We aim to create sustainable solutions in the world’s energy transformation and contribute not only regionally but also globally. In the coming period, we will continue to strengthen Hareket’s global brand journey by participating in larger and more strategic projects around the world.”
The movement will begin transport, assembly, and installation of 36 wind turbines in November. The 91-meter-long wind turbine blades used in the project, scheduled for completion in March 2026, are the longest ever transported in Oman. These massive blades will be transported via a challenging 387-kilometer route from Duqm Port to Nimr Field.
