2024-12-24

Celebrating its 40th anniversary, Sabay Logistics is implementing its new vision with CEO Kerim Aymen. Kerim Aymen, the 3rd generation manager of the company, said, “We will launch our new business plans with a broader perspective in 2025. We aim to grow especially in e-commerce and pharma logistics. We will also invest in additional warehouses and vehicles for SBY Express.”

Founded by Haluk Aymen in Iskenderun in 1984, Sabay Logistics has been continuing its activities with its diversified and expanded service network for 40 years. Today, Sabay Logistics, which is an important actor in the air cargo, container, project and express transportation markets with its ETGB license, continues to grow rapidly in pharmaceutical transportation, which it started in 2023. The company, which continues its activities abroad with 5 offices in Turkiye and agencies in its network, will close the year 2024, in which it continues its success despite all its difficulties, with the storage facility it will commission in Istanbul. Sabay Logistics, which is now in its third generation, will focus on e-commerce and pharma logistics in 2025.

‘WE WILL CARRY SABAY FORWARD WITH A NEW VISION’
Sabay Logistics CEO Kerim Aymen, the third generation manager of the company, summarized where they have come in 40 years as follows: “Sabay was founded in 1984 by my grandfather Haluk Aymen in Iskenderun to provide ship agency and transit transportation services due to the intense transit trade to Iraq at that time. was established. After my father, Bülent Aymen, took over the management in 1985, air, sea and project transportation were added to the company’s activities, and Sabay Logistics branched out as separate companies to serve in these areas, and Sabay Denizcilik to serve in ship agency and ship rental branches. After the companies’ operations center was moved to Istanbul in 1998, our fields of activity expanded even further. I joined the company in 2020 after completing my university education in the USA. Currently, with Sabay Logistics, SBY Express, Bay Trade Company, Sabay Shipping Group companies; we continue our activities in the logistics, maritime, e-commerce and foreign trade sectors with Trade and Sabay Shipping Group companies. We aim to carry Sabay, which was founded by my grandfather and brought to the present day by my father by creating value from nothing, even further with a new vision with the contributions of our colleagues.”

WILL OPEN A WAREHOUSE IN ISTANBUL
Stating that Sabay has been intensively operating in the fields of air cargo, partial & full container and project transportation for 40 years, Kerim Aymen said that they have been providing services for B2C and B2B shipments of important e-commerce sites with the SBY Express brand since 2019. Stating that they have recorded a rapid growth in pharmaceutical transportation within the scope of the GDP accreditation they received in 2023, Aymen said that they will close the year 2024 with the storage facility they will use for e-commerce transportation by opening in Istanbul.
Emphasizing that 2024 is a very difficult year for the logistics sector, Kerim Aymen said, “2024 was a year when the economic crisis was felt even more deeply for Turkiye. The exchange rate-interest-inflation triangle and high credit costs continue to be a nightmare for both industry and export companies. Logistics companies did not have a very happy year due to unreal exchange rates in return for high TL input costs. As Sabay, we were also caught in the crisis while making a warehouse investment. As Sabay, we are not having a bad year in terms of turnover increase, but I cannot say the same for profitability.”

‘WE WILL IMPLEMENT NEW BUSINESS PLANS’
Aymen, who stated that they will focus on e-commerce and pharmaceutical logistics in particular in 2025, said, “So far, we have dealt with turnkey deliveries to destinations that are not provided much service or are risky in export and transit trade. In addition, we carry out the regular transportation of our customers and agencies in traditional markets in our daily routine. Although the difficult economic processes we are experiencing affect our business and investments, our work on new targets and new business areas that will increase our volume is not interrupted. We will also implement our new business plans with a broader perspective in 2025. We aim to grow especially in e-commerce and pharmaceutical transportation. We will also have additional warehouse and vehicle investments for SBY Express.”
