TGL accelerated its growth with new investments
TGL, which offers intermodal transportation, container cleaning and warehouse services together in the field of bulk chemical transportation, strengthened its presence in Europe with the TGL Ro company it established in Romania, and expanded its fleet strength with new vehicle investments. TGL Deputy General Manager Cemil Can Yalçın said that thanks to these investments, they increased efficiency in the operational area and were able to provide faster, more reliable and more environmentally friendly services to their customers.
What is your itinerary towards your investments in Europe and how do you manage this process?
We started our activities in the sector with domestic transportation services, but today we have created a widespread logistics network in Türkiye and Europe. We offer comprehensive logistics solutions to many different sectors with over 300 of our own vehicles, tank cleaning stations, intermodal transportation services and tank container warehouses. We specialize in particular in the field of bulk chemical transportation and provide our customers with ideal solutions for land and sea transportation. With the TGL RO we established in Romania, we had the opportunity to manage our operations in Europe more efficiently. With this new company in Braşov, we have started to have a wider presence in the region.
What is the importance of sustainability in your European operations? What steps are you taking for environmental responsibility?
Sustainability is at the core of our operations as TGL. Operating in the European market, where environmental sensitivity is high, has shown us that we need to increase our sustainability investments. We prioritize sustainability by taking steps to protect the environment while managing our fleet and in our operational processes. As a result of these efforts, we have been awarded the “Green Logistics Certificate”.
Our strategic cooperation with Prometeon in the field of tire management has helped us extend the lifespan of our tires. Thus, we have both reduced our costs and reduced our environmental impact. One of the most important elements of competing in the European market is to implement such sustainable and innovative solutions.
With the new trailers we acquired from Tırsan, we have rejuvenated our fleet, started to conduct more efficient operations and minimized our carbon footprint. We continue to constantly improve environmentally friendly practices in our European operations.
With our new company TGL RO, which has started operating in Romania, we have had the chance to spread our sustainability strategies to a wider area. Our logistics solutions in the region aim to increase efficiency and provide services without harming the environment. In addition, our company and team in Romania offer tank transportation with an intermodal and road hybrid model instead of road. This approach contributes to reducing our carbon footprint and represents one of our most important areas of development in terms of sustainability.
‘WE HAVE INCREASED OUR OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY AND SPEED’
How will TGL RO contribute to your competitive power in the European market?
We adopt a customer-focused strategy to maintain our competitive power in Europe. Our ability to respond quickly and effectively to our customers’ demands sets us apart from our competitors. Our new company, TGL RO, which has started operating in Romania, allows us to be closer to our customers in Europe, while helping us manage our operations more efficiently and better meet customer expectations.
TGL RO plays a critical role in increasing customer satisfaction, especially in areas such as the chemical sector, which requires on-time delivery and precise transportation. In addition, it not only increases speed and efficiency, but also contributes to optimizing operational costs. Located close to important logistics corridors, TGL RO enables us to provide faster and more effective services to our customers by facilitating transportation processes.
FLEET INVESTMENT OF 350 MILLION TL
Can you give information about your fleet investments? How do you manage your fleet in the European market?
We focus on environmental sustainability and innovative technologies, constantly modernizing and expanding our fleet. Recently, we made a major investment worth 350 million Turkish liras in total by purchasing 74 Ford Trucks brand vehicles. The trailers were supplied from Turken, which stands out with its fuel efficiency and compliance with ADR standards, and they make serious contributions to our sustainability goals. Thanks to these investments, we can offer faster, reliable and environmentally friendly services to our customers. In our European operations, fleet management plays an important role as a strategic area carried out with a sustainable perspective.
We are not only renewing our vehicles, but also focusing on our maintenance and tire management processes to ensure long-term sustainability. The high-standard services we offer, especially in the chemical sector, in the transportation of hazardous materials is one of our greatest competitive advantages in Europe. Our ADR and SQAS certified vehicles maintain the highest safety and quality standards in the transportation of both hazardous and non-hazardous substances. We further strengthen our commitment to safety with SQAS certification in cleaning and logistics services. Through TGL RO, we plan to expand these high-standard services to all of Europe and continue to offer the best logistics solutions to our customers.
STARTED DRIVER TRAINING PROJECT
Drawing attention to the fact that one of the most important problems experienced in the logistics sector is the lack of qualified drivers, Cemil Can Yalçın said that they have started an important project. Yalçın stated, “As TGL, we have started the ‘Driver Training Project’ in order to find a solution to this problem. Within the scope of this project, we aim to provide training for female and male candidates with a Class B license and ensure their employment in the logistics sector. The project aims not only to meet the need for drivers, but also to support gender equality and ensure that more female drivers take part in the sector. We want to close the driver gap in the sector by offering equal opportunities to female and male candidates.”
