Shiptier provides 30 percent efficiency increase for forwarders
Shiptier, a specially designed artificial intelligence-supported new generation transportation platform for the forwarding industry, offers the opportunity to easily manage all operational processes from CRM to accounting, from finance to operations and archives, from a single screen. The system, which saves time and facilitates decision-making processes thanks to its user-friendly interface, increases operational efficiency by 30 percent. Shiptier Co-Founder Seyfi Arıcı says that beyond providing software solutions for companies, they have turned into an initiative that leads their digital transformation.
Could you tell us about the branding journey of Shiptier, which offers solutions that facilitate business management for forwarder companies?
Frigian was founded in 2018 with the belief that local logistics companies can increase their competitiveness through digital transformation. 2017 was a year when freight forwarder companies started to collect demands from their customers by adding a “Get Online Offer” button to their websites. This development led us to the search for “how can we do better?” We decided to bring together and offer all the components that a freight forwarder would need to start selling online, and we did this. However, during this process, we realized that creating just a quote portal was not enough, and that the portal had to be fully integrated with the company’s Transportation Management System (TMS). As a result, we set the goal of developing a fully integrated freight forwarding software that also included marketplace and on-site sales features, instead of just a quote portal. This platform, which we serve today under the name Shiptier, has found its place in the industry as a SaaS solution where logistics companies can completely digitalize their sales, operations, documentation and finance processes. Over the years, we have combined all the functions of traditional software in the sector into a modern SaaS platform, offering freight forwarding companies a flexible solution that can be accessed via a browser. Thus, we have gone beyond meeting software needs and become a brand that leads the digital transformation of companies. The basis of our success lies in the collaboration of a dynamic software specialist with more than 25 years of experience and a designer with 25 years of experience in the freight forwarding industry. This combination has enabled us to add value to the sector and offer innovative solutions.
IT ACCELERATES THE DECISION-MAKING PROCESS
Which solutions does Shiptier attract attention with?
We offer innovative solutions to freight forwarder companies in Deep Learning, Data Analysis and Algorithms. Freight forwarders are service industry companies, and their biggest claim is the accuracy of their data and the ability to use it to the advantage of their customers. For this reason, they have to make constant data entries. Shiptier, on the other hand, systematically groups and stores this data. If this data does not prevent errors, does not contribute to detecting risks in advance and increasing efficiency, then all we have is “data garbage”.
Shiptier learns from the data, analyzes it and ensures that these analyzes guide the user where needed. At this point, I would like to give two simple examples of the solutions provided by Shiptier;
Credit and Risk Status Indicators: While freight forwarders register customer companies in the system, a credit customer requests maturity and limit determination. It shows this information with a small symbol to the sales personnel who will make the offer or to the unit who will deliver the order or bill of lading. For example, if the customer has a balance over the limit, we indicate that there is a risk with the “sad red face” symbol, if there is no risk, we indicate this with the “smiling green face” symbol. In this way, we increase the speed of decision-making in operational processes and prevent risks.
Data-Based Customer Rating: Shiptier can rate customers based on data, analyzing which customers you are about to lose, which ones show growth potential, or which customer representative has a steady increase in customers. Thanks to such insights, companies can manage their customer relationships more efficiently and focus on growth.
SAVINGS OF UP TO 70 PERCENT
Can you summarize the benefits of Shiptier in numbers?
Removing Server, Update and Maintenance Costs: Since we offer a cloud-based solution, we completely eliminate server, update and maintenance costs. In this way, our customers do not have to deal with infrastructure management.
Zeroing Fixed Investment Costs: Since our software is offered with a SaaS model, we zero out fixed investment costs. This allows companies to start using it immediately without having to bear high initial costs.
Total Cost Advantage: Even when we compare Shiptier’s 3-year membership cost to the purchase cost of a server-based software, a savings of up to 70 percent emerges. This enables companies to achieve the same or even higher efficiency at lower costs.
30 Percent Increase in Productivity: Shiptier users achieve a 30 percent increase in efficiency by digitalizing their CRM, Sales and operational processes. This increase enables them to be more competitive by saving time and labor.
How many users have you reached as of today?
Currently, more than 100 freight forwarders are using our software. Small and large scale StartUp companies are included in our customer profile. Our total number of users is more than 800.
2024 TARGET IS 80 PERCENT INCREASE
What kind of growth do you aim to close the year with? What are your goals for 2025?
We introduced our solutions by participating in the Logistech fair held in Izmir this year. We added the dynamic premium calculation model and online summary declaration submission to our system. These updates were presented to all our users simultaneously in real time. We aim to close 2024 with an 80 percent increase in the number of users and turnover (USD). As in the last four years, we aim to continue the growth momentum we have achieved in 2025.
How do you evaluate the digitalization process in the logistics sector?
I think there is a long way to go in the digitalization process of the sector. The widespread use of SaaS technology and API applications in the 2010s created great potential for digital transformation in the sector. However, logistics is a sector where the cost of making mistakes is very high. I liken this situation to the cautious approach farmers show when using a new seed or fertilizer. Farmers first observe the pioneers who try innovations and adopt these innovations when they see that they are successful. Similarly, the logistics sector also evaluates innovations cautiously in the digitalization process and acts by learning from the experiences of early adopters. I think that 100 companies that make a difference using Shiptier will play a catalyst role.
What does the digital future of the sector hold?
In the future of the logistics sector, there are transferable transportation documents, state, shipowner, and merchant systems that talk to each other, and applications that protect competition and trade secrets without ignoring security. I think that freight marketplace integrations and applications that care about and reduce carbon emissions will be more on the agenda.
On the other hand, the freight forwarder sector, with its unifying role between the shipper and the global air and sea carrier, is essential for the protection of trade secrets and its importance is increasing day by day.
